Creating a New Wallet
Creating a non-custodial Bitcoin wallet empowers users with full control over their digital assets, offering a decentralized alternative to traditional, third-party custodians. This ensures financial sovereignty, as users manage their private keys independently and enabling true ownership of their funds. Here's how you can create a non-custodial Orange Wallet.
After installing the Orange Wallet, tap the 'Create Wallet' button to begin
Review and accept the Orange Labs Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and tap 'Accept'
On the next screen, you have the option of backing up your Orange Wallet now or later. If you choose the 'Backup Later' option, you will have to retrieve your seed phrase in the Settings menu. This process is faster, but less secure as you will not have your seed phrase until you manually back up your wallet. If you choose the 'Backup Now' option, you will be prompted to reveal and verify your seed phrase in the wallet creation process.
You will be presented with your seed phrase. Tap the 'Show Seedphrase' button to reveal your personal seed for your wallet
On this screen, the dAPP will display your seed phrase. Tap the 'Copy Seedphrase' button to record your seed phrase and safely record it in a safe private location
On the seed phrase verification screen, enter the corresponding words in the correct numerical order that is request by the dAPP. This ensures that you have safely recorded your seed phrase. Tap the 'Paste Seedphrase' button to paste a string of words if you previously copied them. Once all words are entered, please tap the 'Continue' button.
To prevent unauthorized access to your wallet, you will need to create a password to accompany your seed phrase. On this screen, create a unique password that only you know. Passwords should be at least 10 characters long and a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Once completed, tap 'Continue' to proceed.
Re-enter your password to verify your password. Tap 'Continue' to proceed
That's it! Congratulations 🎉 You have created your Orange Wallet! Tap next to continue to the main wallet screen.
